Greetings, friends ~
The Black Box has enjoyed many years in Shepherdstown as a space for local artists of all kinds to meet, collaborate, show, rehearse, and perform. Its recent rebirth as a community space has given many local artists the means to produce works about which they are most passionate.
Thanks to your generous support in the past, we have been able to stay in our sweet historic Shepherdstown spot. There is clearly a need and a desire for more arts access in our area! We've tripled our volunteer base. We're bringing in artists in the fields of dance, music, and film to increase the programs we offer. We're also planning to reconfigure the performance space, making it more flexible, and adding more capacity for lighting instruments. We'd love to reconfigure the walls and doors we have to make the space more user-friendly for all kinds of projects.
If The Black Box has been valuable to you over the years, and if you would like to see it continue to grow and flourish as a hub for community theater, music, and visual arts, please consider making a donation to help us renovate our home on Princess Street. As we are part of a 501(c)3 non-profit arts and education organization, your contribution will be tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. To contribute, see the "Donations" bar under "More" up above.
We truly appreciate all the support each of you has given The Black Box in the past, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration and celebration of the arts in our community!
With my sincerest gratitude,
~Laura Richards Bakin, Artistic and Managing Director
